PC: NASCAR

1.) Ryan Blaney – Team Penske No. 12
Ryan Blaney enters the 2025 season as one of the most consistent and talented drivers in the NASCAR Cup Series. After a strong 2024 season, where he was a key contender in both the regular season and playoffs, Blaney’s ability to stay competitive on a variety of tracks places him at the top of this list. He didn’t claim the championship, but his near-repeat performance at Phoenix and at other key moments throughout the year solidified his status as a top-tier driver. With his continued relationship with Team Penske and the No. 12 car, expectations are high. Blaney’s adaptability and aggression on track make him a strong bet to contend for his second Cup Series title in 2025.

2.) Christopher Bell – Joe Gibbs Racing No. 20
Christopher Bell is quickly becoming one of the sport’s brightest stars, and after an impressive 2024 that saw him advance to the Championship 4, expectations for him in 2025 are sky-high. Bell has developed a reputation for being a playoff performer, with his ability to rise to the occasion during crunch time. Joe Gibbs Racing remains a top-tier organization, and with Bell continuing to hone his craft, a title in 2025 seems within reach. Bell’s versatility, particularly on short tracks and road courses, makes him a threat in every race, and his aggressive yet calculated style is poised to deliver even more success in the new season.

3.) Kyle Larson – Hendrick Motorsports No. 5
Kyle Larson remains one of the most complete drivers in world-wide motorsports, consistently putting together fast and competitive performances across the board. After a dominant 2023 season, Larson’s 2024 campaign upped expectations with him winning more regular season races than anyone else in the field. Had it not been for a weather delay, he would have likely competed in the Coca-Cola 600 and the Indianapolis 500 in the same day, he ill look to try to accomplish the feat this year as McClaren picked up the second year option. As part of Hendrick Motorsports however, one of the top teams in NASCAR, Larson will always be a favorite to contend for the championship. His skill on all tracks gives him a massive advantage, and with a stable, experienced crew behind him, Larson is a safe bet to continue being a top contender in 2025.

4.) Tyler Reddick – 23XI No. 45
Tyler Reddick is quickly proving himself to be one of the top talents in the NASCAR Cup Series. After joining 23XI Racing in 2023, he was able to make an immediate impact, securing the regular season championship and a spot in the playoffs in last year. Heading into 2025, the expectation is that Reddick will be even more in sync with his team and continue his ascension. His performance on road courses and ability to challenge on intermediates makes him one of the most versatile drivers on the circuit. Reddick has the potential to take the next step and challenge for a championship this season.

5.) William Byron – Hendrick Motorsports No. 24
William Byron had a career-defining 2024, with multiple wins and consistent top-five finishes that positioned him as one of the top drivers in the Cup Series. His newfound confidence and performance under pressure make him a dangerous competitor heading into 2025. Working with the powerhouse that is Hendrick Motorsports, Byron is poised to build on his previous success and become a regular contender for race wins. His excellent speed on intermediate tracks and consistency throughout the year makes him one of the favorites to capture his first championship in 2025.

6.) Ross Chastain – Trackhouse Racing No. 1
Ross Chastain continues to be a force to be reckoned with, with his aggressive style and fierce racing attitude. After a breakout 2023, where he clinched several wins and made his presence felt in the playoffs, 2024 was a bit of a surprise when he missed playoffs. However, after a win at Kansas and multiple top 10 finishes, Chastain's momentum heading into 2025 is strong. Trackhouse Racing has steadily improved, and Chastain is at the heart of that growth. His raw speed and ability to make bold moves, especially on short tracks, put him in prime position to win multiple races this season. If he can fine-tune his decision-making and reduce mistakes, “The Melon Man” could very well be a championship contender in 2025.

7.) Chase Elliott – Hendrick Motorsports No. 9
Chase Elliott, voted yet again the most popular driver in NASCAR, had an underachieving 2024 season, with his only win coming at Texas. However, as one of the most talented drivers in the field, Elliott is primed for a bounce-back season in 2025. His driving expertise, coupled with the top-tier support of Hendrick Motorsports, ensures that he’ll be competitive. The No. 9 team is always capable of finding a groove, and with Elliott’s focus and determination, a return to form and a legitimate title run are very possible.

8.) Denny Hamlin – Joe Gibbs Racing No. 11
Denny Hamlin remains a steady hand at Joe Gibbs Racing, year in and year out, and his 2024 season was no exception. Hamlin was a consistent threat in the playoffs and showed his skill on a variety of track types. There is however, some concern about the window he has left to capture the elusive Cup Series Championship. Heading into 2025, Hamlin’s experience and racing IQ make him a perennial contender, even though his quest for a Cup championship has thus far eluded him. In a season where consistency will be crucial, Hamlin’s ability to execute under pressure will be key to staying in the championship conversation.

9.) Chris Buescher – RFK Racing No. 17
Chris Buescher’s breakout year in 2023 saw him elevate himself into the upper echelon of NASCAR drivers with not one, not two, but THREE wins in the month of August. With a couple of wins and a consistent season, Buescher proved that RFK Racing is a team on the rise. As the foundation of RFK’s resurgence, Buescher looked to build on his momentum in 2024. After several last second finishes and wrecks (Kansas was the closest finish in NASCAR Cup Series history) the 2024 season was marked by what if’s for RFK. With the win and you in playoff format, Buescher unfortunately found himself on the outside looking in when the playoffs started. He was able to capture a win after the start of the playoffs in a last lap bump and pass of SVG at Watkins-Glenn. If the No. 17 team continues to make strides with speed and reliability, Buescher could be one of the surprise challengers for the championship, especially given his skill at managing tire wear and closing races.

10.) Chase Briscoe – Joe Gibbs Racing No. 19
Chase Briscoe makes a big move in 2025, joining Joe Gibbs Racing after Stewart-Haas Racing folded. Briscoe’s strong run with SHR last year proved that he can compete at the highest level. Briscoe’s potential is undeniable, and in top-tier equipment at JGR will give him a unique edge in certain race formats. Taking over the No. 19 from the now semi-retired Martin Truex Jr. , the expectation is that with a stable environment at JGR, Briscoe could make his mark in 2025.

11.) Alex Bowman – Hendrick Motorsports No. 48
Alex Bowman is one of the more underrated drivers in the series, but the second half of his 2024 season was a reminder of just how capable he is when he’s in the mix. As part of Hendrick Motorsports’ powerhouse lineup, Bowman consistently found his way into top-10 finishes and remained competitive during the second half of the season. After struggling in the first half of the season, rumors that he would be replaced at Hendrick started to surface. Rick Hendrick however quickly shut those rumors down and shortly after, Bowman started coming into form. Heading into 2025, the expectation is that Bowman will continue to build on his experience and contribute to Hendrick’s dominance, with extra motivation that a technicality kept him from advancing in last season’s playoffs. While he might not be the flashiest driver, Bowman’s quiet consistency makes him a reliable contender for top finishes week in and week out.

12.) Joey Logano – Team Penske No. 22
Although he won the championship in 2024, Joey Logano’s season didn’t yield the same level of success as his championship run in 2022. However he was still a force to be reckoned with, especially in the playoff races. Logano has proven that he can win anywhere and at any time, but consistency has been an issue at times. He got mathematically eliminated from the playoffs last season, but a technicality in Alex Bowman’s car gave him another opportunity. Heading into 2025, Logano’s experience and racecraft make him one of the more dangerous drivers on the circuit. He’ll be looking to recapture the playoff magic that led to his third Cup title in 2024 and challenge for more wins throughout the season.

13.) Bubba Wallace – 23XI No. 23
Bubba Wallace has made significant strides in the last few years, and his 2024 season was a testament to his progress. Wallace secured several strong finishes, and his relationship with 23XI Racing continues to grow stronger. The 23XI team is expected to be a legitimate threat in 2025, and Wallace’s raw speed and competitive spirit will make him a dangerous contender. If the NASCAR playoffs model was by points, he would have made it in, but like Chris Buescher he found himself on the outside looking in after the regular season finale. With a new Crew Chief and a fresh opportunity, consistency in fighting for wins will be key for Wallace to take the next step in his career.

14.) Brad Keselowski – RFK Racing No. 6
Brad Keselowski’s 2024 season was a mix of solid performances and also “what could have beens”, but he’s still one of the smartest and most capable drivers in the Cup Series. As co-owner of RFK Racing, Keselowski’s leadership and experience are invaluable, and the team is continuing to improve under his guidance. Keselowski’s aggressive racing style and ability to adapt to changing race conditions mean he will always be in the mix for a top 10 finish, and the expectation is that he’ll help RFK Racing take another step forward in 2025 after a season of disappointments in 2024.

15.) Ty Gibbs – Joe Gibbs Racing No. 54
Ty Gibbs enters his second full season with his grandfather’s team, Joe Gibbs Racing in 2025. After an XFINITY Series Championship in 2022, and a strong Cup Series ROTY campaign in 2023, his potential is beginning to shine through. Gibbs showed flashes of brilliance and has quickly become one of the most promising young talents in the Cup Series. If he can avoid emotion-driven mistakes and continue to develop under the JGR banner, Gibbs could be a serious challenger for wins in 2025. His talent and aggressive racing style make him one to watch this year.

16.) Daniel Suarez – Trackhouse Racing No. 99
Daniel Suarez is one of three full-time drivers at Trackhouse Racing, and 2024 was another year where he showcased his ability to get the most out of his car. Suarez was highly regarded for his skills in karting growing up in Mexico, and with Trackhouse Racing continuing to improve, Suarez should be in a great position to continue racking up solid finishes in 2025. The goal this season will be to consistently challenge for wins, and to build upon last years success in getting into the playoffs.

17.) Shane Van Gisbergen – Trackhouse Racing No. 88
Shane Van Gisbergen made waves with his impressive debut in the 2023 Cup Series, including a thrilling win in his first race at Chicago. As a newcomer, he’s already proven he can compete at a high level, and with Trackhouse Racing behind him, 2025 will be an important season for the New Zealander. While he still has much room to improve on NASCAR’s oval tracks, his skill set on road courses makes him one of the more intriguing drivers heading into 2025.

18.) Josh Berry – Wood Brothers Racing No. 21
Josh Berry took on the historic No.21 with Wood Brothers Racing in 2025.Sadly, the closing of SHR overshadowed his solid yet quiet year in 2024 he put together. While at times it was a learning year for the young driver, his potential is clear. For 2025, Berry is expected to continue improving with a more stable team environment. He may not be challenging for consistent wins just yet, but expect him to improve on his consistency and work his way into more top-10 finishes, proving his value as a rising star in the series.

19.) Kyle Busch – Richard Childress Racing No. 8
Kyle Busch’s transition to Richard Childress Racing in 2024 was not without its challenges, but the two-time Cup champion showed signs of his old self with some strong finishes and competitive moments. While he didn’t have the dominant season some expected, the 2025 season should see him continue to adapt to his new team. Towards the end of the season however he had numerous top 5 finishes, he just couldn’t catch a break for things to go in his favor. Busch’s experience and racecraft make him a threat, but consistency will be crucial for him to return to championship form.

20.) Austin Cindric – Team Penske No. 2
Austin Cindric had a solid sophomore season in 2024, but he still has a lot to prove in terms of competing for wins regularly. He showed promise on superspeedways and road courses, but his overall performance was inconsistent. Heading into 2025, the expectation is that he’ll continue to improve with the backing of Team Penske and get more comfortable in the Cup Series. A few more consistent runs could help elevate him to the next level.

21.) Carson Hocevar – Spire Motorsports No. 77
Carson Hocevar is an exciting young talent who made the jump to the Cup Series in 2024. While his first full season was challenging, Hocevar showed plenty of speed and aggression, especially on road courses. Heading into 2025, he will look to refine his craft and start competing for top-20 finishes on a more regular basis. His biggest issue as he improves might be an external factor rather than skill. He doesn’t have many friends on the track due to his overly aggressive style of racing and multiple instances of wrecking other drivers. However, Hocevar does have the talent, and with the right support from Spire Motorsports, he could have a very long and decorated racing career.

22.) Michael McDowell – Spire Motorsports No. 71
Michael McDowell remains one of the more dependable drivers in the Cup Series, known for his ability to excel on superspeedways and be a steady presence on the track. Leaving Front Row Motorsports for Spire Motorsports was an interesting choice, but likely one filed by FRM’s desire to have him mentor the younger drivers. McDowell’s season will likely be a mix of solid finishes and some missed opportunities like Talladega last year. If he can remain steady and capitalize on the few poles he is usually able to win every year, he could potentially see a late career surge. No doubt McDowell will continue to work hard and fight for every position, but a playoff spot may be a stretch unless Spire makes significant improvements.

23.) Todd Gilliland – Front Row Motorsports No. 38
Todd Gilliland’s 2024 season showed some flashes of promise, but it was clear that he still needs some coaching in key moments. Gilliland will continue to fight for every point in 2025, but unless the team makes strides in car performance, it may be another season of uphill battles. Look for Gilliland to push for top-20 finishes and continue to develop as a driver.

24.) Justin Haley – Spire Motorsports No. 7
Justin Haley is another driver with potential but also facing some challenges in terms of equipment. Spire Motorsports’ continued development means Haley will likely find himself battling for mid-pack finishes most weekends in 2025. However, his experience on superspeedways and his persistence will ensure that he stays competitive. A few solid results and consistent top 10 finishes will be the goal for Haley heading into the season.

25.) AJ Allmendinger – Kaulig Racing No. 16
AJ Allmendinger has established himself as one of the best road course racers in the Cup Series, earning himself another shot at the Cup Series in 2025. Kaulig Racing continues to improve, but they’re still a work in progress compared to the top teams. Allmendinger’s specialty on road courses will make him a contender when the series heads to those types of tracks, but a championship run would likely require a lot of things to go his way.
